Luciano Rigobelo is a Brazilian guitarist, composer, and educator based in Vancouver, BC. His work is grounded in jazz while drawing from Brazilian music and contemporary improvisation, shaped by over 20 years of experience as a performer and teacher. Known for his versatility on guitar and bass, he brings a collaborative, ensemble-focused approach to both performance and education.

His recorded work includes the album Raiva em Relva, recorded with Daniel Cancello, as well as the EPs Ugly Cars and Pétala na Tela. As a performer and collaborator, he has worked and recorded with pianist Daniel Reynolds (VSO), bassist Steve Smith, trumpeter Simon Millerd, violinist Isaac Zee, and saxophonist Mike Bjela.

Rigobelo has performed at venues including La Fabrique Winery and Pyatt Hall at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, contributing to a wide range of musical projects across Vancouver’s jazz and creative music scene. Alongside his performance work, he continues to teach at Richmond Music School, supporting students in jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music practice.
